چکیده
Note The vast majority of both benign and malignant tumours of the stomach are of epithelial origin, with mesenchymal and neuroendocrine tumours being much less common. Gastric adenocarcinoma comprises in excess of 95% of malignant neoplasms of the stomach, and is thus the focus of this overview. Primary gastric lymphoma is the second commonest malignancy affecting the stomach with gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) and rare tumours, such as carcinoids, accounting for the remainder of cases.
